Volunteers Needed – Cowtown Stand Down Event

7th Annual Cowtown Homeless Veteran Stand Down

Stand Downs provide supplies and services to homeless Veterans, such as food, shelter, clothing, health screenings and VA Social Security benefits counseling. Veterans can also receive referrals to other assistance such as health care, housing solutions, employment, substance use treatment and mental health counseling. They are collaborative events, coordinated between local VA Medical Centers, other government agencies and community-based homeless service providers.

Can you help?

This is Kennedale’s only African American cemetery.  The upkeep of this cemetery has been neglected for years. None of the graves have ever been documented on the Texas cemetery website.  There are also veteran graves in this cemetery.

The Kennedale Histrocial Society is leading this community outreach, but needs your help.

We are meeting at the First United Methodist Church

Court Diversion Program selected as Grantee of the Year!

Tarrant County Veterans’ Court Diversion Program has been selected as the Texas Veterans Commission Grantee of the Year!

The award will be presented during the Texas Veterans Commission 68th Annual Statewide Training Conference in Galveston next month.

The Veterans Court Diversion Program is for Justice Involved Veterans currently facing prosecution for a criminal case. The program offers offenders a judicially supervised treatment option with a goal of successfully rehabilitation and re-entry into the community.
