The Veterans Coalition of Tarrant County (VetCo) is a collaboration between veterans in our community, local military friendly organizations and employers throughout Tarrant County.

The VetCo website offers programs, support services and events for veterans and their families. Catholic Charities Fort Worth

Description & Key Services: Supportive Services for Veteran Families – Veteran Services promotes housing stability among very low-income Veteran families. Services are provided to eligible Honorable veterans that reside or wish to reside in Tarrant and Denton counties. Case management and financial assistance is provided.

Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity is committed to building strong communities and helping empower veterans and their families in Dallas County with strength, stability, self-reliance, and hope for generations to come. Fort Worth Transitional Center

Description & Key Services: Halfway House for TX Dept. of Criminal Justice paroled offenders. Residential reentry center, also known as halfway house, to provide assistance to inmates who are nearing release. Residential reentry centers provide a safe, structured, supervised environment, as well as employment counseling, job placement, financial management assistance, and other programs and services.

Fort Worth Veterans Affairs – Homeless Veterans Program

Description & Key Services: Engaging and identifying homeless Veterans who need to initiate services for VA Health Care; Coordination of health care and Social Services to homeless Veterans; Community outreach on the streets, emergency shelter, encampments, and community mental health facilities.

Description & Key Services: Transitional housing for homeless veterans with PTSD and substance dependence issues. Supportive services focusing on recovery, employment and community reintegration.

Mission Stability

Description & Key Services: Mission Stability is for veterans who are facing an emergency. Apply for help for rent or utilities, including water and electric bills. The non-profit may be able to help pay for school supplies and textbooks for veterans going back to school. Other services, such as case management may be offered too.

Description & Key Services: Homes4Heroes is committed to making a difference in the lives of veterans from recent and past wars. Our goal is to provide a veteran with a safe and healthy home and help support our men and women who have served our country.

Tarrant County Housing Partnership

Description & Key Services: HOMES with HONOR is affordable homes available for purchase for income-eligible active or reserve military personnel and veterans at a 25% discount off list price. All homes are fully remodeled with energy efficient upgrades and are ready for occupancy. These homes are located throughout North Texas -call for details. A course in homeowner education is required to receive assistance through HOMES with HONOR.

Description & Key Services: The U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing Program (HUD-VASH) combines housing choice voucher rental assistance for homeless veterans with case management and clinical services provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Description & Key Services: Volunteers of America are committed to ending homelessness for those already on the street and preventing others from becoming homeless. Volunteers of America provide a wide array of well-designed and managed services to meet the specific needs of homeless veterans including case management and emergency shelter.
