Steel Hope begins development of retreat center

Steel Hope hosted a ground breaking event on Saturday, September 9, for its Steel Freedom Ranch program.  The facility is designed to be a place for others to recover, rediscover, and rebuild.  Said Crystal Holm, “Brokenness can be healed. Will lives look exactly the way the did before?  No.  But, lives definitely can thrive instead of just survive.”

Upon completion, Steel Freedom Ranch will begin with day classes and then expand to add lodging and hosting 2-7 day retreats. The 8-acre property is located at 108 SW 25th Street in Mineral Wells.

There was a volunteer clean-up from 9am-5pm, preparing the facility for renovation and restoration. was one needed physically for preparation of the property to rebuild and symbolic.  As Sue Blaylock sat in the audience for the ceremony these words came to her: “This facility is as broken and bruised as the people it is designed to serve by helping heal in body, mind and soul.”
